Who we are
Meals on Wheels is a community-focused organization dedicated to delivering nutritious meals, friendly visits, and safety checks to seniors and individuals with limited mobility. Our mission is to ensure that no one is left hungry or isolated, especially those who are homebound and unable to shop or cook for themselves.
Our team is made up of compassionate staff, generous volunteers, and supportive partners who work together to serve our neighbors with dignity and care. Every meal we deliver brings nourishment, comfort, and a personal connection to those who need it most.
We believe in strengthening communities through service, and we’re proud to help people live independently in their own homes for as long as possible.

Support Lawrence Meals on Wheels (LMOW) by participating in the Douglas County Community Foundation’s (DCCF) Giving for Good Campaign. Our volunteers brave the cold weather to deliver hot nutritious meals to their homebound Lawrence neighbors in need. Some days, the roads can be too treacherous for volunteers to drive, so we turn to our blizzard bags program. Your donations will help fund our blizzard bags, which contain 3-4 shelf-stable meals, snacks, and winter accessories. DCCF donors will match all contributions, so double the impact of your gift with this donation. The campaign ends Dec. 31, 2021. Visit DCCF to donate.
